A geothermal heat pump (GHP) uses a series of underground pipes to exchange heat with the earth instead of outdoor air. Installing a geothermal heat pump in Northern Kentucky can save up to 70% on energy bills. It’s no wonder so many local homeowners are switching to geothermal.
Arronco Comfort Air in Burlington installs WaterFurnace brand geothermal products in Northern Kentucky. WaterFurnace has been the most recognized and respected name in the industry for nearly three decades.

Geothermal systems help keep occupants in a home comfortable throughout every season.
The WaterFurnace systems we install in Northern Kentucky homes can deliver more than five units of energy for every one unit of electrical energy used. That translates into an efficiency rating exceeding 530%, compared to the most efficient gas furnaces, which rate only 98% efficient.
A WaterFurnace geothermal system is so efficient most homeowners save more on monthly utility bills than they pay for the system when installation costs are added to the mortgage. Many homeowners see a return on investment of 10-20% over the life of the system.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency recognizes geothermal systems as the most environmentally friendly, cost effective and energy efficient heating and cooling technology available. Did you know installing a single geothermal unit is the environmental equivalent of planting 750 trees or removing two cars from the road?
Ordinary air conditioners, furnaces and heat pumps are rated for only 12-18 years. But geothermal heating and cooling systems have an average equipment life of 25 years. The underground loop system has a rated material life of more than 100 years, according to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Geothermal systems aren’t vulnerable to the effects of weather and combustion the way traditional furnaces and AC units are.
Geothermal heating and cooling taps into the earth’s temperature several feet below the surface. The geothermal system relies on refrigerant as well as the water located in the pipes to heat or cool the air. This warm or cool air is then circulated throughout the home through the existing or new ductwork. Additionally, the refrigerant fills the condenser or evaporator coils while duct air blows across them and through the house.
When the homeowner wants to heat the home, the water absorbs heat from the refrigerant. During warm weather, the water transfers heat to the refrigerant. The effect provides the traditional comfort of a forced-air HVAC system at a reduced expense to operate the geothermal system. The geothermal unit compresses or expands the refrigerant to increase or decrease the temperature.

We install throughout Northern Kentucky, so if your city is not listed, call us at 859-525-6407 to see if service is available in your area.
Geothermal units use significantly less energy, resulting in a 400 to 600% efficiency level compared to an average 98% efficiency level for high-efficiency gas furnaces.
Geothermal systems have an average lifespan of 24 years, compared to 12 years for air conditioners and 13 years for conventional heat pumps. And, when it comes time to replace your Geothermal system, you are only replacing the indoor unit portion—the geothermal loop lasts a lifetime!
